Money generated by drinking water, wastewater and reclaimed water rates allows Flagstaff to:
Flagstaff has seen rising costs due to inflation and cost escalation for materials. These rising costs have been absorbed by delaying critical projects and putting off maintenance, but this is not sustainable in the long run. To adequately fund our operations and maintenance programs, capital programs and log-term water security, Flagstaff is evaluating rates to keep the water flowing for generations.
Residential, business and industrial customers who receive Flagstaff's water services pay water rates as part of their monthly municipal service bill. Rates are based on the services provided and the individual costumer's use.
The last rate study was completed in 2016, with the last rate increase for water and sewer customers implemented on January 1, 2020.
